The 236th Session of the Baltimore-Washington Conference will be Wednesday, May 27, through Friday, May 29, at the Waterfront Marriott Hotel in Baltimore.
The theme of the session will be "We Are One: Going Out in Mission."
Online registration is scheduled to open March 11.
The clergy executive session and the laity session will be held this year on April 18 from 2 to 4:30 p.m. Laity will meet at the Ranson Civic Center in Ranson, W.Va. and the clergy will meet at Asbury UMC at at 110 W. North Street in Charles Town, W.Va.
At the Annual conference Session, the Rev. Evan Young will speak at the Ministry Beyond the Local Church dinner. Bishop LaTrelle Easterling, the presiding bishop of the Baltimore-Washington Conference, will preach at the opening worship service on the evening of May 27. The Right Rev. Eugene Taylor Sutton, of the Episcopal Diocese of Maryland will be the preacher at the Ordination Service on May 28. The Rev. Rudy Bropleh of Asbury UMC in Shepherdstown will preach at the Memorial Service on May 29. The Bible study leader on May 28 and 29 will be Dr. David Scott, Director of Mission Theology with the General Board of Global Ministries.
A series of mission events will be layered into the annual Conference session with a focus on mission, movement and momentum. On Wednesday, May 27, a work day at the Susanna Wesley House in Baltimore, a home for women and children, is planned. A candlelight vigil to address violence in Baltimore will follow the Ordination service.
