Pastor Charles “Charlie” Henry

Pastor Charles “Charlie” Henry, 80, of Ranson, W. Va., died Feb. 3, 2019, at his home. A Celebration of Life Service was held Feb. 10, 2019, at Inwood UMC, with the Revs. John Lewis, John Yost, and Edward Grove participating. District Superintendent the Rev. Edgardo Rivera officiated. Private interment was in Edge Hill Cemetery.

Charles William Henry was born Sept. 11, 1938, in Jefferson County, W. Va., the son of the late Abner Henry and Elizabeth Chamblin Hough.

He was an active member of Masonic Lodge # 80 AF & AM and their many organizations associated with the Masons. He served as Chaplin and was a life-member of FOP #83.

He retired from the Charles Town Police Department where he was Captain. He also retired from the City of Charles Town.

Pastor Charlie attended Wesley Seminary and had served with Berkeley Place/Friendship UMCs from 2000-2008, and in 2012 began serving with Inwood UMC.

He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Shirley Fritts Henry; one daughter, Sheila Owens and husband Brian of Martinsburg; one granddaughter; two brothers; and a number of nieces, nephews and cousins.
