NEJ to elect 2 bishops

When the delegates of the Northeast Jurisdiction Conference gather in College Park on Nov. 1-4, they will elect two bishops, to replace Bishops Sudarshana Devadhar and Mark Webb, who are retiring.
There are nine candidates for the episcopacy.
The candidates are:
- Giovanni Arroyo, MARCHA
- Thomas Ladd Blackstone, New England
- Hector Burgos, MARCHA
- Cristian de la Rosa, MARCHA
- Wendy Deichmann, Upper New York
- Sang Won Doh, Greater New Jersey
- Andrew Foster, Black Methodists for Church Renewal
- Alyce Weaver Dunn, Western Pennsylvania, and
- Robert Zilhaver, Western Pennsylvania.
A consecration service, which is open to the public, will be held at Baker Memorial Chapel on the campus of the University of Maryland at 11 a.m. on Nov. 4. The bishops will take office Jan. 1.
