Marguerite Groseclose - June 22, 2015

The Rev. Marguerite B. "Peggy" Groseclose, 69, a retired Elder, died suddenly June 22, 2015, in Zalienople, Pa. A funeral service was held June 27 at St. John’s Burry’s Church in Rochester, Pa., with burial in the church cemetery. A memorial service was held at Bel Air UMC on June 28 with the Revs. Carol Pazdersky, Barry Hidey and James Hainley participating. Hainley, a seminary classmate, delivered the message, “God’s Woman.”

Groseclose was born Dec. 25, 1945, in Cleveland, Ohio, the daughter of the late Albert and Margaret (Krusling) Brancae.

She served as Senior Associate Pastor at Bel Air UMC from 1990 until she retired in 2008. After retirement she served at Mt. Carmel Chapel in Bel Air and at Union UMC in Baldwin.

She was a member of the Clergy-Spouse Fellowship Group at the Passavant Center in Zelienople, where she also volunteered at the gift shop and was a former member of the Harmony-Zelienople Ministerium. She also enjoyed sewing, scrapbooking, cooking and baking.

Survivors include her husband of 38 years, William T. Groseclose; their five children, Win Groseclose of New Sewickley Township, Pa., Patricia James of Oklahoma City, Okla., Paula Reichenstein of Plano, Texas, Sarah Bowlin of Martinsburg, W.Va., and David Groseclose of Laurel, their spouses and 10 grandchildren.
