Ellen Muller - October 27, 2015
Pastor Ellen Barnes Muller, 85, a retired Local Pastor, died in her home Oct. 22, 2015. Funeral Services were held Oct. 27, 2015, at Calvary UMC in Finksburg.
She was one of two daughters born to the late Moses and Carrie Barnes July 18, 1930, in Baltimore. She graduated from Westminster High School, received nursing training at Maryland General Hospital and completed the Course of Study through Wesley Seminary. She received her License to Preach from the Baltimore-Washington Conference. She also had credits through Shepherd University.
Muller served churches in Harper's Ferry in 1987, then in 1988, transferred to the Harper’s Ferry-Bolivar Larger Parish until she retired in 1996.
Serving churches was not her only mission in life. She was also a farmer's wife, mother, Assistant Trust Officer of Carroll County Bank, grandmother, great-grandmother and daycare provider.
She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Robert Edward Muller, Sr., and six children and their spouses: Robert E. Muller, Jr., James E. Muller, Gary L. Muller, Steven M. Muller, Mark D. Muller, and Karen Muller Swope; 16 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. She also is survived by three daughters-in-law, no longer in marriage, but still a part of the family.
Muller is preceded in death by her son, Daniel M. Muller, who died in November 1987 and a grandson, Jonathan Gary Muller, who died Dec 22, 2014. A month before her death, her younger sister Carrie Irene Johnson died.
