Prayers of the People

We continue to pray for Bishop LaTrelle Easterling and the BWC Cabinet as new appointments are announced. A list is available here .

A weekly prayer from the Appointive Cabinet

God of new beginnings: We pause in grateful thanksgiving for the flowers breaking through the ground in myriad colors.

For the buds, bursting forth on trees.

For the grass that is turning from brown to green.

For the birds that are chirping and building nests.

For the varied sounds of new life that are all around us.

Holy One, we are ever mindful that midst the challenges of life with all its complications, pandemics, social unrest, systemic racism, sexism, terrorism…

New every morning is your great love, Benevolent Creator.

Thank you for love, expressed in the gift of your Son and our Savior Jesus Christ, and the life of hope that is available to us because of the resurrection of Jesus from the grave.

May the new life symbolized in the resurrection of Christ be evidenced in our relationship with one another as we journey towards becoming the beloved community.

We pray that our hope for the beloved community is not buried in the tomb but raised with Christ and thus available to us all. In Christ name we pray. Amen.
