Nancy Hanna-Ussery, 92, the wife of the Rev. Earl W. Ussery, an Associate Member in the 1980s, died Dec. 22, 2018, from Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s diseases. They were residents of Augsburg Lutheran Village in Baltimore.

Nancy C. Hanna was born Feb. 22, 1926 and held teaching jobs “from first to twelfth grade,” in the Baltimore County School System for 40 years, her husband said. She had a Ph.D. in Education and was a principal for 12 years in Sussex.

Hanna was a longtime member of Bel Air UMC and a piano-player.  When they down-sized she donated her piano to the church.

She was the second wife of Earl W. Ussery. He served the now-discontinued Andrew Chapel for five years starting in the mid-1980s. He was terminated in 1995, according to Journal records, to return to North Carolina to serve several churches.

Her daughter Cathy S. Hunt-Schuh preceded her in death.

Survivors include her husband of eight years, Earl Ussery; a son and step-son.

Condolences may be sent to Earl Ussery, 6825 Campfield Road, Apt.2H, Baltimore, MD 21207.

Memorial contributions may be sent to: Augsburg Lutheran Mission @ Augsburg Lutheran Village, 6811 Campfield Road, Gwynn Oak, MD 21207.
