Charity golf tournament postponed

Dear Friends,

Grace and Peace to you and yours...

Our 2nd Annual SOS Charity Golf Tournament, which was set to take place on Monday, April 27, 2020, has been postponed in light of the current coronavirus pandemic.

A state of emergency and catastrophic health emergency was proclaimed on March 5, 2020, and renewed on March 17, 2020, to control and prevent the spread of COVID-19 within the state, and the state of emergency and catastrophic health emergency still exists.

To reduce the spread of COVID-19, the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the Governor of Maryland, and the Maryland Department of Health recommend canceling large gatherings (of 10 or more) and social distancing in smaller gatherings.

Hobbit's Glen Golf Club, a Columbia Association property, falls under Section III and V (f) of Governor Hogan's Executive Order released March 30, 2020, mandating non-essential state closures.  Hence, we will continue to work with our representatives at Hobbit's to reschedule this event and communicate possible dates as soon as possible.

Thank you for your support of the Baltimore-Washington Conference Seeds of Security Domestic Violence/Intimate Partner Violence Prevention Ministry, continued prayers for all impacted by DV/IPV and those especially impacted by COVID-19.

With Faith and Hope,
The SOS Team

“I came that they may have life and have it more abundantly.” (God’s vision for wellbeing.)

Luke 10:25-37

27
‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind’; and, ‘Love your neighbor as yourself…
30  A man was going down from Jerusalem to Jericho, when he was attacked by robbers. They stripped him of his clothes, beat him and went away, leaving him half dead.
31 A priest happened to be going down the same road, and when he saw the man, he passed by on the other side.
32 So too, a Levite, when he came to the place and saw him, passed by on the other side.
33 But a Samaritan, as he traveled, came where the man was; and when he saw him, he took pity on him.
34 He went to him and bandaged his wounds, pouring on oil and wine. Then he put the man on his own donkey, brought him to an inn and took care of him.
35 The next day he took out two denarii and gave them to the innkeeper. ‘Look after him,’ he said, ‘and when I return, I will reimburse you for any extra expense you may have.’
36 “Which of these three do you think was a neighbor to the man who fell into the hands of robbers?”
37 The expert in the law replied, “The one who had mercy on him.”
Jesus told him, “Go and do likewise.”
