From Pew to Pulpit: A Beginner's Guide to Preaching (HYBRID)

Class Schedule: Wednesdays, April 17^th and 24^th from 6-8:30 pm via Zoom and Saturday, April 27^th from 9 am-2pm in person at Hancock UMC, 170 W. Main St, Hancock, MD 21750.

Textbook: From Pew to Pulpit: A Beginner's Guide to Preaching by Clifton F. Guthrie.

Preparation for class:

1. Using the lectionary (https://lectionary.library.vanderbilt.edu/lections.php?year=B&season=Epiphany), select a scripture from the Sunday closest to your birthday that you would like to preach.
2. Be in prayer as you read and meditate on the scripture leading up to the class.

Reading Assignment:

1. For April 17 - Read chapters 1-5.
2. For April 24 - Read chapters 6-9
3. For April 27 - Read chapters 10-12
