Rev. Milton Walter Benny Jr. - January 2, 2016

Rev. Milton Walter Benny Jr., 84, died Jan. 2, 2016, at his home in Mercersburg, Pa. He was a retired Associate Member of the Baltimore-Washington Conference. The Rev. W. David Kent officiated at a memorial service that was held Jan. 6, 2016.

Born March 10, 1931, in Baltimore, he was a son of the late Milton Walter, Sr. and Mary Edella Lewis Benny.

From 1966 until he retired in 1993, Benny served many churches. These included: Ellerslie until 1973, Messiah UMC in Glen Burnie until 1978, 1978-1980 at Wesley UMC in Baltimore, from 1980-1986 at Wesley Grove UMC in Woodfield, 1986-1991 at Fort Washington UMC. In 1991, he moved to the Mt. Gilead-Patapsco Charge in Reisterstown but took a Leave of Absence a year later. He retired in 1993.

Benny was a life member of DeMolay of Baltimore and a member of Ministerial Minister Associations locally and in Baltimore.

Benny was preceded in death by a daughter and a brother.

Surviving are Barbara Ann Fern Benny, his wife of a 35-years-plus blended marriage, four children, 11 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
