Pride flag missing at Grace UMC

Grace UMC in Baltimore has been a Reconciling Church since 2010 and since 2019 a flag has hung from the exterior front wall of our sanctuary as a sign of our commitment to be a place of welcome, support, and advocacy to the LGBTQIA+ community.
Earlier this week we noticed the flag was missing. While we would hope its absence happened by wind or storm, we are concerned it may have been intentionally removed. And while a sign itself does not determine the strength of our welcome nor the quality of our community’s character, we know how important the sign is as a visible statement of our love to members of our church and to the many persons who drive through the busy intersection at which Grace Church stands.
