Loretta Miller

Loretta Miller, 86, the wife of the late Rev. William T. Miller, died Jan. 21, 2019. Funeral services were held Jan. 24, at Linden-Linthicum UMC in Clarksville, with the Rev. Gayle Annis-Forder officiating.

Loretta Bryan was born June 2, 1932. She and William T. Miller were married in 1954 in Derby, Connecticut, at the beginning of his seminary and ministerial career.

She served with him in his appointments for the 38 years of his ministerial career. The appointments included: Idlewylde, 1954-56; Montgomery, 1956-58; Mt. Nebo, 1958-60; Susquehanna, 1960-65; Highland Ave., 1965-70 during the merger which created The United Methodist Church. From then on, his appointments were for longer periods: Essex UMC, 1970-76; Ashton UMC, 1976-81; Parkside UMC, 1981-87; and Magothy UMC 1987-91, when he retired. They also made two exchange trips to England, first to Liverpool for eight weeks serving two churches, then another two-churches for eight weeks to Margate on the North Sea.

She was an active member of Linden-Linthicum UMC.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, William T. Miller, in 2017, and a daughter, Melissa Anne Miller.

Survivors include her son, Joel B. Miller and his wife Lyn of Cheverly and two grandchildren.
