This training is for anyone who wants to learn about the Lay Servant Ministry. A lay servant is a person who has been called by God to serve the church. The person must be a member in good standing of a United Methodist church.
Any assignments by instructors will be e-mailed to the students.
Class schedule: Thursdays, Sept. 7-Oct. 5, 2017, 6:30-8:30pm
Required Text: Basic Lay Servant Ministries Participant Book DR552. Required text will be purchased by the student.

Be sure to keep a copy of the completion certificate. If you proceed to an advanced class and fill out an application to become a Certified Lay Servant, you will need to attach copies of your completion certificates for both classes to your application for approval by your Church Council or Charge Conference. Once you become a Certified Lay Servant, you will also need to submit all completion certificates copies along with a copy of your approved application with your annual report at your local church’s charge conference.
