Strawbridge Shrine is hosting its annual Colonial Day. This popular event features authentic colonial crafts demonstrations, music and food. The historic buildings where Methodism first took root in America will be open for tours led by guides in period costume. Strawbridge UMC will be selling lunches of grilled chicken or fish hot off the grill. Admission is free.
Strawbridge Shrine, a Heritage Landmark of The United Methodist Church, is the site where Robert Strawbridge formed the very first Methodist society and held the first meeting in the new world about 1761. It is located at 2650 Strawbridge Lane in New Windsor.
