Weekly Update - January 11, 2012

Statistical Reports – Deadline Approaching – Please read letter!
Dear Friends in Christ,

I am sending you this note today to let you know that I am your primary contact for making sure our region meets this year’s timeline for the 2011 statistical data collection.  Our cutoff date for receiving the data is Tuesday, January 17, 2012 at Noon.  It is critical that we meet this date since elements of the stats data feed our 2013 budget proposal that will be reviewed by the CFA on January 25, 2012.  I appreciate everyone’s hard work to ensure our region is able to support this timing.

If you are new to our statistic data reporting, then I encourage you to call me with even the smallest question to make sure you fully understand the scope of our task.  If you are new to the church you are serving, please be in conversation with me should you have any difficulty reconciling numbers from the previous years.  Contacting me early is the key to allowing our region to be successful in meeting the cutoff date.  Our region has been very successful in past years in meeting the required timing.

I would like to highlight two parts of the process as we move forward:

  1. When you go to submit your 2011 data in Ezra, you will be asked to provide explanations for some of the data that has shown significant increases or decreases from the prior year. This is part of the data validation established by GCFA, so don’t be too surprised if there are several lines of data that require your attention during the final submit step.
  2. We will be sending a verification survey to the Pastors and the Finance Chairs for each congregation once you have submitted the statistical data. The survey needs to be completed by only one of you and it will simply ask you to verify the key numbers that are part of our apportionment base calculations.  It will also give you a preliminary estimate of the new apportionment for 2013 based on the submitted statistical data.  This verification is part of the corrective action taken this year to help us ensure data inputs to the conference budgets are as accurate as they can be.

Leadership Day Registration ending soon!
Registration for Leadership Day is ending on January 15, 2012. Please be sure to register prior to the deadline. We will not accept late registrations so please register by Sunday.

 

Summer Camp Registration Now Open
The Summer Camp Schedule is online and registration is open! Mark your calendar for Fun - Friends - Faith. The best week of summer for your youth is coming up and you don't want them to miss out on swimming, ropes course, games, wacky Olympics, the giant swing and the zip-line.  

 

Scholarships
The College Scholarships information for 2012 has changed. The new schedule is as follows:

Online application process to be live by February 1

Applications being accepted February 1 – May 30

Application Review June 1 – June 30

Award Letters - August 1

Check processing - September 1
