Rev. Vernon L. Thompson
The Rev. Vernon L. Thompson, a retired Elder, died June 1, 2018, at the Willowbrook Medical Center at Indian River Estates retirement community in Vero Beach, Florida, where he and his wife lived. A memorial service was provided by the National Cremation Society in North Palm Beach July 14.
He was born July 14, 1927, and ordained an Elder in 1968.
From 1966 to his retirement in 1992, he served Keen Memorial (1966-69), Grace UMC in Cumberland (1969-71), Lodge Forest for two years, Brooklyn Heights UMC (1973-1980), and Calvary UMC in Annapolis, 1980 until he retired. Upon retirement, he continued to serve as an interim pastor in churches wherever he was needed.
