Marlee Richardson - July 6, 2015

Marlee Richardson, 90, the wife of the late Rev. Robert Worth Richardson, died peacefully July 6, 2015, at Homewood of Crumland Farms in Frederick. A memorial service was held July 18, in the chapel.

Marlee Misenheimer was born June 6, 1925, to George and Nancy Misenheimer of Richfield, North Carolina.

She and Rev. Robert Richardson were married in 1946 before he began his ministerial career. They had 59 years together before his death in 2005. They had three children.

Marlee Richardson was a sports enthusiast and loved the Washington Redskins and Nationals. She was a supportive and loving wife to her husband during his 38 years of ministry, which included his first appointment in North Carolina, and the move in 1961 to the Baltimore-Washington Conference to serve Millian Memorial as an associate. In 1969 he was appointed to Washington Grove-Emory Grove, then in 1973 to New Street UMC until 1978 when he moved to College Park. From 1982-84 he served Frances Asbury UMC in Rockville, and from 1984-1988, when he retired, at Washington Square UMC.

Survivors are her daughter, Brenda Williams and husband from Climax, North Carolina; twin sons, David Richardson and wife of Culpeper, Virginia, and Jim Richardson of Baltimore; and two grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Culpeper UMC's Building Fund, 1233 Oak Lawn Drive, Culpeper, VA 22701.
