20th Concert for Life to surpass $1 million in donations
Quality of Life Retreats among AIDS organizations to benefit
Looking Back, Living Forward is the theme for the 20th Concert for Life AIDS benefit to be held Friday, May 17 at 8 p.m., at Foundry United Methodist Church, located at 1500 16th Street NW in Washington, DC. Quality of Life Retreats, a ministry of the Baltimore-Washington Conference, will once again benefit from tickets sold to this annual fundraising gathering.
Funds raised in 19 years of concerts total $963,000. This year Concert for Life organizers expect to surpass $1 million in total funds donated to organizations serving people living with HIV and AIDS in Washington D.C., and South Africa. Quality of Life Retreats, celebrating its 25th anniversary, has been a beneficiary for several years.
Community Outreach Events
Come learn about Quality of Life Retreats, a ministry of caring and sharing, hospitality and hope among volunteers and persons living with HIV/AIDS.
For 25 years Quality of Life Retreats have inspired a community of hope and a legacy of love among hundreds of our brothers and sisters who wage an anxious, often lonely struggle against HIV/AIDS. These weekend retreats offer them help with disease management, a safe space to share, creative activities and uplifting fellowship.
We try to sponsor Quality of Life Retreats community outreach gatherings twice a year to show and tell others about this life-saving, life-changing ministry. We invite you to come learn about us, and hear our poignant but triumphant testimonies. Enjoy music, fellowship and light refreshments. Then enrich the quality of your own life by becoming a part of this life-changing, life-saving ministry.
We also occasionally participate in church and community events (such as mission fairs) where Quality of Life Retreats provides a display and representatives to inform others about this ministry.
