Faith Community and Parish Nurse Scholarship Program

Application Deadline:  Rolling, but application must be submitted at least six weeks prior to the start of the course. No reimbursement for prior programs.

Award Amount:  Scholarships of up to $1,000 per applicant may be awarded.

The Baltimore-Washington Conference of The United Methodist Church offers scholarships to licensed registered nurses to complete a minimum of 34-hours continuing education Faith Community/Parish Nurse Basic Preparation Program. Support through scholarships is intended to increase the number of dedicated faith community/parish nurses.

Faith community/parish nurses have the unique opportunity to minister to the physical, emotional, and spiritual facets of individuals and families. They act as effective health advocates, health educators and counselors, referral agents, volunteer coordinators, and support group leaders. Scholarship funds are to be used for tuition and will be paid directly to the institution. Scholarship funds are not available as reimbursement for completed courses.
