Women are leaders. Some lead differently than others, but each has God-inspired abilities. At this two-day event, we encourage you to discover or deepen your leadership abilities as you gather with - and learn from - other women leaders. Come expecting to grow as you encounter the spirit of God and connect, re-connect, charge or re-charge yourself to new heights of spiritual growth as a leader.
Just as no two women will be wearing the same shoes at this conference, no two women lead in the same way. Helping you understand yourself in this world we live in will be Dr. Renita Weems, a well-known and beloved theologian who will be the preacher for the two days. Jane Creswell, our workshop presenter, will walk us through developing or re-developing our leadership style while learning something about ourselves and our “high performance pattern.” We encourage you to take advantage of staying overnight with us at the Hilton Hotel BWI Airport so that you can retreat and connect with your sisters in work and in play, in rest and in rising, in the love of Jesus.

Speakers
Dr. Renita J. Weems
Dr. Renita J. Weems is a nationally renowned theologian whose scholarly insights into biblical text and the role of spirituality in everyday lives have made her a popular author and speaker.
An ordained minister in the African Methodist Episcopal Church, Weems recently concluded a two-year appointment as a humanities professor at Spelman College in Atlanta. Prior to that she was a Professor of the Hebrew Bible at the Divinity School at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tenn.
Weems is a prolific writer with numerous popular and academic books to her credit, including the Wilbur Award-winning Listening for God: A Minister's Journey through Silence and Doubt. She is founder of Something Within, a monthly e-newsletter and blog that explores issues of faith in the context of the challenges women face on a daily basis.
A highly sought-after experts on issues of faith, she has offered analysis and commentary for Discovery Channel, the BBC, Washington Post, Washington Week, BeliefNet, Essence Magazine, and as a panelist on Bill Moyer’s award-winning “Genesis Project,” an analysis of women in the Bible.
Weems obtained her undergraduate degree from Wellesley College and holds a Masters and PhD from Princeton Theological Seminary. She is married and has one daughter. Follow Weems on Twitter @somethingwithin.
Jane Creswell
Jane Creswell is an innovator and leader in the emerging field of internal corporate coaching. She leveraged 17 years of product development and management experience at IBM to invent the role of “Organization Coach” and become the founder of IBM Coaches Network. At IBM, she focused her organization on achieving extraordinary results by individual coaching of the leaders at all levels of the organization.
Currently, Creswell utilizes those experiences to help corporations worldwide create and reap the benefits of a coaching culture. The focus of her work is on helping leaders make the high impact transition from merely influencing others to developing excellent leaders who develop excellent leaders. Her work has been characterized as maximizing the strengths and knowledge of individuals for the benefit of both the person and the organization.
She has worked with executives and head coaches in several corporations, including SAS Institute, Blue Cross Blue Shield of NC, Northrop Grumman, Cisco Systems, Oracle, and IBM. In 2009, she was the managing director for Purdue University’s Organizational Leadership Development Lab.
